Mojo Vision Wins $24.4 Million US Army Grant for Monolithic Full-Color Micro-LED Near-Eye AR Displays

Micro-LED developer Mojo Vision has been awarded $24.4 million in US government funding from the US Army to develop monolithic full-color microdisplays for near-eye AR — the company's largest government award to date. The project will build on Mojo's proprietary quantum dot color conversion technology to create an ultra-bright monolithic microdisplay solution, aiming to improve brightness and reliability while shrinking size, weight, and power for a lighter wearable experience and stronger situational awareness for warfighters. Iterations in Micro-LED fundamentals, CMOS integration, and wafer-level manufacturing will also strengthen the technology platform shared between the company's display and optical interconnect businesses. The funding is administered by the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Industrial Base Policy, with $20 million from the Industrial Base Analysis and Sustainment (IBAS) program and the remaining $4.4 million from the Army's C5ISR organization, which calls microdisplays a core component for delivering information to warfighters.

Micro-LED技术厂商Mojo Vision近日宣布，获得美国陆军拨付的2440万美元政府资金，用于开发面向近眼AR场景的单片全彩微型显示器，这也是该公司迄今拿到的最大一笔政府拨款。

本次项目将依托Mojo自研的量子点色彩转换技术，打造超高亮度单片式微显示方案，核心目标是在提升亮度与可靠性的同时，进一步压缩尺寸、重量与功耗，为作战人员提供更轻便的佩戴体验与更强的态势感知能力。同时，Micro-LED底层技术、CMOS集成与晶圆级制造工艺的迭代，也将同步强化公司显示业务与光互连业务共享的技术平台。

这笔资金由美国陆军部工业基础政策助理部长办公室统筹拨付，其中2000万美元来自工业基础分析与保障（IBAS）项目，剩余440万美元来自陆军指挥、控制、通信、计算机、网络、情报、监视与侦察（C5ISR）部门。

美国陆军方面表示，微型显示器是作战人员信息传递的核心组件，广泛应用于飞行员抬头显示、先进夜视镜、武器光学系统、无人系统等装备，保障本土先进Micro-LED显示器的供应链安全，对国防部下一代国防应用的性能与安全性至关重要。

Mojo Vision首席执行官Nikhil Balram表示，这笔资助将加速高亮度全彩显示方案面向军方的落地进度，同时夯实美国本土的制造能力。公司成立的核心逻辑，就是用改变信息获取方式的Micro-LED技术，同时革新计算机系统的数据传输模式，本次项目将进一步筑牢两大业务线的技术与制造根基。
